Our Services

  • Surrender a Pet

NHS is not an open intake facility so surrenders must be made by appointment only. Pets being surrendered from the city limits of Fernandina Beach will automatically be granted an appointment and all others will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on our current space and resources available.

  • Food Bank

Nassau Humane Society provides a community pet food bank for those in need. This service is for Nassau County residents. Recipients will receive a month supply of food and are eligible to come back once a month. Food bank pick ups are on Fridays from 2 - 5 pm.

  • Petco Love Lost & Lost Pets

Here at NHS, we do everything we can to reunite lost pets with their families, from alerting our community through social media to internet searches, and most importantly, microchips. Our return to home process starts with scanning for a microchip anytime a 'stray' animal comes to our facility. The benefits of microchipping your pet are too many to count, but the most important benefit is that this component could be the reason a lost pet quickly finds their way home, rather than spending time in a shelter and running the risk of never reuniting with their family.
