When you shop or donate to Second Chance Resale Store and The Closet Boutique, you’re helping provide food, shelter, and medical care for the homeless cats and dogs at Nassau Humane Society. Along with great finds in-store, we also sell collectibles, antiques, and vintage clothing on our eBay store. Every purchase and every donated item directly supports our mission to give these pets a second chance at a happy life.

Proceeds from our resale stores and online e-Bay store directly benefits the animals in our care.

Household Items Donations

We accept donations of gently used household items from kitchen supplies to artwork, to beach toys and golf clubs to support our mission.

Where and when to leave donations?

Donations are accepted at our back door under the red awning that says “Second Chance” between the hours of 9:30 am and 4:00 pm. Please ring the doorbell and hand donations to a staff member or volunteer.

Please do not leave your donations after hours or by the front door.

Furniture Donations

Second Chance, located at 1116 South 14^th, accepts gently used and clean furniture.

Where and when to leave donations?

Donations are accepted at the front doors only, Monday through Saturday, 9:30 am-4:00 pm. Pull up to the front of the store and come in to let us know you have something to donate.

Call us before bringing furniture donations to confirm it’s an item we accept. Please bring someone to help unload your items. Our staff and volunteers are unable to assist you with unloading your donations.

Free Furniture Donation Pick Up

If you have furniture to donate but no way to get it to us, we have FREE pick-up services available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 1 pm.

We also offer delivery. Ask for more details when purchasing furniture.

Where and when to leave donations?

We accept donations between the hours of 9:30 am and 4:00 pm.

Gently used and clean clothing, shoes, and accessories donations may be taken to the back entrance of The Closet Boutique (1002 South 14th) and handed off to our staff and volunteers in processing. Just look for the BLUE awning behind the building, that is marked “Donations”, and ring the doorbell.

Please do not leave your donations after hours or by the front door. Your thoughtful donation could be damaged due to the weather.
