A MESSAGE FROM NHS

Nassau Humane Society appreciates the concern from the community and animal welfare advocates regarding recent developments.  As always, our first and foremost interest is continuing the good that NHS has always provided to the community and its animals.  A very valued employee, former Executive Director Jacki McDonald, has resigned, and we are continuing to work through that with the animals remaining as our primary focus. Should anyone have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We wish everyone involved in the situation the best, we are working through this in the best and most efficient way we can. We assure that operations, our adoptions and our animals will not be affected in this process.

The Nassau Humane Society’s policy is to not discuss personnel matters or pending investigations.  At all times, NHS has conducted itself lawfully, ethically, and in the best interests of the community it serves.  NHS is proud of its many accomplishments and looks forward to continuing its important work to ensure the humane treatment of animals in and around Nassau County.

If you have any questions or concerns at all, please feel free to reach out to Christina Sutherin, our Operations Manager.  Her email is [email protected].  As always, thank you for all that you do for us and we appreciate each and every one of you.
